Area Guide For Mississauga

Mississauga is one of Canada’s fastest-growing and most multicultural cities in Greater Toronto Area, it offers a whole spectrum of different sights and value of life you would love. Toronto Pearson International Airport is in Mississauga and if you are nature and water lover, you would love some of the best views of Lake Ontario. Mississauga is a city of contrast with people from all walks of life. But it is exactly Mississauga’s contrasting character that gives its appeal, the multicultural living is at it's best.

You have to see it to believe and those who own homes close to Lake Ontario parks will attest to how beauty has made the area its home.  Natural lover love it because of the beaches of Jack Darling Memorial Park to the wetlands of the Rattray Marsh Conservation Area and the tranquil isolation of Lakefront Promenade Park, there is a whole range of natural scenery to take advantage of.

For the shopaholic who can’t get enough, the opportunities are endless. In addition to the massive Square One Shopping Centre one of the best shopping centre in the area, with its 360 stores, there is the equally-impressive Erin Mills Town Centre just a short drive away.

For the history buff, visit Streetsville, Mississauga’s ‘Village in the City.’ Sitting on the banks of the scenic Credit River, Streetsville offers historic storefronts, where you can enjoy a variety of creature comforts from spa treatments to lattes at one of the neighbourhood’s inviting cafes. Evening walking tours, conducted by candlelight, reveal the stories behind the charming old facades and the origins of Streetsville as a mill town. The annual Bread & Honey Festival pays homage to the town’s historical roots.

For a breath of fresh air and refreshing lakeside experience, visit Port Credit, Mississauga’s own ‘Village on the Lake.’ Situated at the mouth of the Credit River, along the shores of Lake Ontario, Port Credit traces its origins back 180 years to its harbour town beginnings. Walk along the 15 km waterfront trail to take in the view or try your luck fishing salmon in the Credit River. Or explore the Saturday farmer’s market during the summer and early fall to browse boutiques, well stocked with jewellry, crafts and fashion from local artisans.
